# Studio Enamel canon

## Three-layer world

### 1. The Field — lacquer

The Field is near-black deep umber (`#0A0604`). It is crisp, quiet, and optically deep. It does not carry a broad gradient or atmospheric color cast. Sparse engraved arcs and local reflections reveal depth.

### 2. Realms — celestial structures

A Realm is a crafted circular enamel vessel with:

- a warm metal/enamel outer rim
- a dark near-black interior core
- one semantic type hue
- a custom inlaid geometric crest
- a localized reflected halo
- nested Realm or Element glints when applicable
- an attached label that travels and scales with the vessel

Realm dimension comes from material hierarchy, not glossy 3D spectacle.

### 3. Allies — people

An Ally is the Source’s persistent identity inside Kiduna. Allies have direct or accessible eyes, a face, signature adornments, a state cheek sigil, and a camel + moon-cream identity ring. They do not receive a permanent brightness or scale advantage: an active relationship, task, or place can be equally or more prominent.

## Material rules

- Enamel color is deep, slightly irregular, and tactile.
- Highlights are moon cream; warm wire and rims use camel and sun gold.
- The object center stays dark enough to preserve the Field’s crispness.
- Use one localized glow per object. Avoid overlapping fog banks.
- Do not use glassmorphism as the primary material.
- Do not use photoreal chrome, plastic gloss, or generic neon bloom.

## Scale hierarchy

Size communicates a weighted combination of:

```text
apparent_size = distance × activity × relevance × current_context
```

This is a perceptual rule, not a literal multiplication formula. Ki may arrange scale and proximity to make relevant Realms more available, but the layout must remain stable enough to preserve orientation.

Recommended outermost Field ranges:

- far glint: 8–16 px
- distant Realm: 18–32 px
- readable Realm: 40–76 px
- prominent Realm: 88–132 px
- threshold Realm: expands beyond 160 px as the rim approaches the viewport edge

## Label grammar

Realm labels attach to the right of the node, left-aligned and vertically centered.

```text
TYPE EYEBROW — Avenir Heavy, 8–10 px, caps, 0.18–0.2em, Realm hue
Realm name — Goudy Heavyface, 16–28 px, Realm hue
Description — Avenir Book, 10–13 px, moon-cream at 48–65%
Activity — Avenir Book, 9–11 px, muted cream; mint activity dot
```

Ally labels sit below the medallion at normal Field scale so they do not compete with faces.

## Ally state ↔ ambient Field grammar

| Ally state | Field verb | Studio expression |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Open | Breathe | available Realm breathes slowly; ring light gently rises and settles |
| Engaged | Relate | relevant paths and paired nodes brighten; activity is relational, not noisy |
| Focused | Gather | relevant Elements settle toward a task or Realm; arrivals stagger and resolve |
| Dreaming | Drift | possibility nodes wander slightly; open constellations and rare mint glints appear |

The Field may contain all four verbs at once, but an individual object uses only the verb justified by its current context.

## Semantic separation

- Realm crest geometry and enamel structure identify what a place is.
- Ally state identifies how a person is participating.
- Element hue identifies what an object does.
- Sky-blue enamel may appear inside a crest. Sky light, focus, and UI emphasis identify action or active relational consequence.
- Motion describes current context; it never changes underlying identity.
