Field + Chat — one surface, four postures

Studio is the first surface where the Field and Chat live together on a big screen. The layout grammar (2a), what the flexible HUD holds on desktop and what it refuses (2b), and the same Project — the Lightbrush integration — at all three Scene production grades so the fidelity ladder is legible (2c). Moving between postures is chrome, never a door (2d).

2a

The layout grammar — Field-only · Chat-only · overlay · side-by-side

All four are legal (canon). Each has a job; none is a mode you configure — the surface takes the posture the work asks for, and you can always insist with the two standing words.

Lightbrush integration
Taro — quiet unless spoken to
Field-only. Arranging a Scene, walking a returned build, placing crafted art. The band stays; the thread hides. Right when the work is spatial.
The Contract's third sentence would change from "never speaks for Moto" to "may speak for Moto inside this Project." Say it back to me before I hold it.
Only inside the Project, only on package status. Nothing else.
Held. The Contract card shows the change and who said it, from today.
the Field · one word away
Chat-only. Ally maintenance, careful wording, reading Records. Right when the work is language — the ground would only be noise.
chat · over the Field
Package #6 returned. Fourteen files, all inside constraints.
Unpack it where I'm standing.
Overlay. In the place, talking about the place. The thread slides over as part of the HUD, translucent, and returns what it borrowed. Right for narration during spatial work.
Elias moved the adapter Record next to Dolly — want the same for Dowbot's?
Yes, mirror it.
Side-by-side. Studio's default working posture on desktop — the width exists, so both renderings stand whole. Right for running a Project: the place and its telling at once.

The HUD on desktop — still four elements, plus the thread

what the desktop HUD holds
The container chip — where you are: org · Project. One chip, top-left, always.
Contextual chips, ≤3 — ranked by distance then consequence, exactly the Live rule. Desktop width buys longer labels, never more chips.
The ally band — one line at the bottom; expands to the overlay thread (2a) when the conversation grows.
Sky rims — the only paint the interface owns: a thin breathing edge on what would respond to a click. The pointer inherits the touch grammar.
Chat as the fifth presence — on desktop only, the thread may stand beside the Field (side-by-side). It is Chat borrowed whole, not a new HUD element; it keeps Chat's own grammar (cards, citations, press-and-hold).
what it refuses to hold
A file tree. Uploads land in the Scene and organize into the graph; asking your ally beats browsing a hierarchy that doesn't exist.
Tabs, docks, panels. Studio is not an IDE. One Project at a time is the posture; switching Projects is drift, not window management.
A notification tray. ACTIONS live at their objects and in Chat; light announces what happens to you; nothing accumulates in a corner.
Meters of any kind. No presence timers, no activity graphs, no health. The Sentinel is felt, never shown (03 · 3d).
A second primary action. One sky moment per posture. If two things glow, one is a bug.
2c

One Project, three grades — the fidelity ladder, legible

The same Scene — the Lightbrush integration workroom — at the three production grades. Same objects, same HUD, same grants; only the rendering climbs. Grade never gates capability: everything you can do in the crafted room you can do in the words-and-pixels one.

Dowbot
Dolly
package
drawn live
On-the-fly — words and pixels. Born with the Project. Sentence first; nothing draws that the sentence didn't state; the "drawn live" chip never leaves. Low fidelity, fully representative.
generated · from the room's own words
Generated — the middle path. Rapidly designed with generative multimodal AI from the Scene's own description. A member asks for it in a sentence; the result is versioned and replaceable. The chip states its provenance.
crafted · uploaded via Studio · Lightbrush
Crafted — uploaded art. Moe's team dresses the room with Digital Dolly's work, uploaded through Studio (05 · 5c). Solid ground, real materials — and the same HUD, because grade is rendering, not rank.

The ladder is climbed in place: the room upgrades around the work without moving anything. Provenance chips are the constant — every grade states what drew it.

2d

Moving between postures — two standing words, and the surface listens

Field Chat
The two standing words sit in the frame's top-right, exactly R6's switch — a mode must feel cheaper than a door. Clicking a word takes that posture whole; clicking the space between them takes side-by-side.
The surface may propose, never seize. When work changes character (a returned package while you're deep in Chat), the other rendering announces itself as light in the band — one line, no motion demand. You go, or you don't.
Continuity is the band. Across every posture change, the ally band persists unbroken — the same 1400ms crossing R6 set for Chat ⇄ Live, detailed in MOTION-ADDENDUM-R7.
The postures are one surface breathing, not four rooms with doors. Nothing is ever "in the other mode" — everything is in the graph, rendered where you are.

Keyboard: the spacebar-hold peek (hold to glance at the other rendering, release to return) is proposed in MOTION-ADDENDUM-R7 and flagged in OQ-3 — it's the one Studio-only gesture this round adds.
